I want to share moments that filled my life with lots and lots of laughs. The picture below are really random…none of the events have anything to do with the other, but I figured this is the best way to present these special moments. So, in summary 1) the smaller school where I teach had a birthday party for me 2) I attended one of my friend’s art exhibition. She lives in the town next to Novaci and I think she is incredibly talented 3) Tagged along with the Viajoa.ro group for a fun and adventures scavenger hunt in Bucharest 4) Attended a pig slaughtering where I learned all about a pig’s anatomy. All pig slaughtering takes place before Christmas usually in mid-December to provide a tasty meal for the holiday season. Poor piggies, it really sucks to be a pig in Romania…but they taste so good. 5) And finally, I, along with 5 other PC volunteers, volunteered to shave the back of our heads to raise money for the Gender and Development Committee of Peace Corps Romania.
Life as a PC Volunteer never stops.
Next is the school’s Christmas party…I’ve been teaching my students “Let It Snow” and “Santa Claus is Coming To Town” , video of performance to come.
Students from the second school where I teach surprised me with a birthday party
What a lovely way to start the day, I love my students.
A local artist and a friend, Daciana. Picture taken at her art exhibition in Targu Jiu. To view all of her work go to http://www.decohandmade.ro
Daciana’s work. Her art reflects traditional Romanian culture
I find these absolutely beautiful
More of Daciana’s work
My favorite. I love the simplicity.
In Bucharest, I think these wheels suit me.
Participated in a scavenger hunt with Viajoa. One of the things we had to find was blue twins.
We were also asked to find love.
Another possible car I wouldn’t mind owning. Not part of the scavenger hunt but I think its a nice ride.
Attended a pig slaughtering in Novaci (thank you Gabriela for the invitation), what an experience! I posted only the picture that won’t have long life effects on those who view them 🙂
mmmm can anyone guess what’s cooking?
The brave volunteers enjoying the money that we raised for the Gender and Development committee.
First time to have EVER shaved any part of my head!
